Home to the Tehreek-i-Taliban (TTP), Lashkar-i-Islam and other outlawed groups, the northwestern valley has witnessed a series of air raids in recent months.
Last week, more than 130 rebels were killed in a similar air blitz. The Tirah-based fighters also cross the border to stage attacks inside Afghanistan.
