KHOST CITY (PAJHWOK): A week-long spring volleyball tournament, featuring more than two dozen teams, has concluded in southeastern Khost province, officials said on Saturday.
Provincial Olympic Committee head Aziz Malang told Pajhwok Afghan News Wahidullah — a team from Khost City — emerged champions.
He added 25 squads, including those from districts, participated in the week-long. “Promising players will be included in the national team.”
The governor’s spokesman, Mubarez Muhammad Zadran, said the tournament was aimed to bring together youth and let them share experiences.
A spiker from the winning side said: “Our team has really done well in the tournament.” He asked the Olympic Committee to provide them with more opportunities and resolve their problems.
