Gunmen kidnap 3 civilians including trader in Balkh

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen have kidnapped three civilians in the Sholgar district of northern Balkh province, an official said on Monday.

The men were kidnapped on their way to Mazar-i-Sharif, the town’s administrative chief, Sirajuddin Abid, told Pajhwok Afghan News. The incident took place late on Sunday, he added.

Acting police chief Col. Abdul Razzaq Qadri confirmed the kidnapping of one businessman and two of his companions in the area. Without giving details, he said a search operation had been launched.
