KABUL (PAJHWOK): Nasimullah Danish, chairman of the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), on Tuesday termed the latest decision of International Cricket Council (ICC) as disappointing.
Earlier, ICC Chief David Richardson said 10 nations would be taking part in the Cricket World Cup 2019, while the number of squads was 14 in the the last mega event that concluded on Sunday.
The ICC decision directly affected efforts at promoting cricket in Afghanistan, regretted Danish, who believed there would be little chance for Afghanistan to qualify for the World Cup 2019.
According to the ICC, the formula for eight Test-playing nations participating in the mega event while there would be qualifying matches among associate members, in which two top teams would get World Cup ticket.
