MAIMANA (Pajhwok): An under-14 football team from northern Faryab province has lifted the North Zone Football Championship title concluded in neighbouring Jawzjan province a day earlier, officials said on Saturday.
The event involved five teams from Faryab, Jawzjan, Sar-i-Pul, Balkh and Samangan and was played in Shiberghan, the capital of Jawzjan province yesterday.
The champions celebrated their victory on Saturday in Maimana, the provincial capital, by driving on roads and chanting “Sports”.
