FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): Twenty-seven insurgents, including four foreign fighters, have been killed as a result of intense gun fighting in the Jurm district of northeastern Badakhshan province, officials said Saturday.
Lt. Sakhi Dad Haidari, a senior security official, told Pajhwok Afghan News six Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers have also lost their lives and 13 more wounded after insurgents stormed their check posts late Friday night.
Haidari confirmed four of the slain insurgents were Tajik nationals.
