KABUL (Pajhwok): Four militants were killed when a US drone fired two missiles at a compound in the militancy-haunted South Waziristan tribal region along the Pak-Afghan border on Sunday.
Pakistani media reports that the unmanned aircraft fired missiles at a militants’ sanctuary in Shawal, a village on the border edge between the two countries.
Situated on border with another restive Pakistan’s north Waziristan, the South Waziristan is largely viewed a militants’ hub near the Afghan border.
The area is also considered strongholds of foreign militants and local Taliban fighters.
Media reports that those killed in the missile strike were members of the Pakistani Taliban’s Sajna group.
