FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): Three Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers that were taken hostage in the Jurm district of northeastern Badakhshan have been released, officials said on Tuesday.
Acting Governor Shah Wali Adib told Pajhwok Afghan News seven soldiers had gone missing during the fierce fighting between security forces and heavily-armed militants.
The three soldiers, he confirmed, were released following hectic efforts by local elders while four others had been killed by militants.
