212 NSP projects completed in Samangan last year

AIBAK (Pajhwok): As many as 212 welfare projects costing $12 million have been completed and put into service under the National Solidarity Programme (NSP) in northern Samangan province last solar year, an official said on Monday.

NSP director in Samangan, Ahmadzia Rahimi, told Pajhwok Afghan News a total of 562 projects had been approved under the programme for Samangan last year.

The projects were to be implemented in the provincial capital, Aibak, and Hazrat Sultan, Firoz Nakhchir, Dara Suf Bala, Dara Suf Paeen, Khuram and Sarbagh districts at a cost of over $18 million.

Of the schemes, he said, 212 had been completed and the remaining 350 projects were under different stages of completion.

The projects completed include graveling and asphalting roads to villages, buildings for schools, drinking and irrigation water schemes, power networks and buildings for social centers.

Residents said they were satisfied with implementation of the projects. Resident Haji Muhammad Kabir said a building for social center, culverts and three drinking water storages had been established in their village, where roads were repaired, resolving most of their problems.
