PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): A girl and her lover committed suicide after the former’s parents refused the marriage in the Mohammad Agha district in central Logar province, an official said on Thursday.
Matiullah Abdulrahimzai, the district police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News a young couple loved each other and the boy’s family proposed the girl several times but her father refused to marry her to the boy.
The boy took poison and died instantly, he said, adding it prompted the girl to drink acid and died.
