JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The governor of eastern Nangarhar province on Saturday assured the provincial council (PC) of his support in resolving people’s problems.
Salim Khan Kunduzi pledged this assurance during a visit to the PC office in Jalalabad, the provincial capital, according to his spokesman, Ahmad Zia Abdulzai.
Promising his support to the provincial council, the governor urged the public representatives to ensure continued presence in their office and share people’s problems daily with his administration.
He said the provincial council served as people’s home and an address of their real representatives, who could share people’s problems with the provincial government without any restrictions.
The governor said: “My intension is to serve the people and resolve their problems.” He urged the provincial council members to cooperate with his administration in banishing corruption and bringing reforms.
According to Abdulzai, the provincial council deputy head, Dr. Nasir Kamawal, and members Zabihullah Zamarai, Ustad Israrullah Murad and Humira Rafi briefed the governor about their daily activities.
They also talked about problems and shortcomings the council faced with and praised the governor for his latest efforts at strengthening security and removing some officials to improve administrative affairs.
They assured the governor of their support in addressing people’s problems and bringing administrative reforms.
The public representatives called for special attention to their security, inviting them to departmental meetings and assistance in constructing a mosque at the provincial council office’s premises.
