KABUL) on Monday claimed thwarting terrorist attacks on the Presidential Palace and the Ministry of Defence (MoD) by arresting four would-be assailants.
A statement from the spy service said a group of four individuals with links to the Taliban had been arrested in the limits of the 8th municipality district. A suicide vest, five magnetic bombs, explosives and seven mobile sets were recovered.
The group, which was involved in terrorist activities in the past, planned to storm Presidential Palace, MOD and two foreign forces bases in Kabul, it said.
The detainees were identified as Abdullah son of Abdul Hanif, Zia-ur-Rahman son of Ghulam Mustafa, Ajmal son of Asmat Khan and Sharifullah son of Qasim Khan.
