QALAT (Pajhwok): One militant was killed and another detained when armed insurgents stormed the home of deputy police chief Col. Ghulam Jilani Farahi’s residence in Qalat City, the capital of southern Zabul, an official said on Saturday.
Farahi told Pajhwok Afghan News he had prior information about the imminent attack and his security men were well-prepared to thwart the attack.
He said that one rebel was killed and another apprehended along with pistol during the ensuing battle. He remained unhurt in the assault.
