PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Five militants were killed and another 24, including civilians, a shadow district chief, were wounded during an intense firefight with security forces on Tuesday morning near the capital of northern Baghlan province, an official said.
The clash on the outskirts of Pul-i-Khumri broke out after Taliban insurgents stormed a police check-post in the area, said police spokesman Zabihullah Shuja.
