MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Some elders from the Ghormach district of northern Faryab province on Thursday accused local officials of bad governance and held them responsible for deteriorating security in the area.
The elders, who called on First Vice-President Abdul Rashid Dostum, lashed out at local officials and said their negligence allowed militants to stage a comeback and recapture villages and localities in Ghormach.
Dostum has been in Faryab spearheading a military offensive to eliminate Taliban and purge the province from their presence.
