KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): For the first time, a sport complex has been constructed in the Spinboldak district of southern Kandahar province, an official said on Saturday.
Haji Sayed Ali, the town’s administrative chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the ground was constructed on 3.5 acres of land funded by head of the football federation.
Provincial sport officials and local elders were present during the inauguration of the ground.
He said youth of Spinboldak were in dire need of sport facilities and the ground would help them improve their skills.
Mohammadullah Gulali, sports director, said the ground was completed at a cost of over eight million afghanis provided by Khair Mohammad Gulali, the football federation head.
He said residents and youth of the locality were great fan of sports but unavailability of a sports complex restricted their skills.
