ACAA ready to take charge of country’s airports

KABUL forces leave the country.

During a meeting between ACAA and NATO officials, issues pertaining to the transfer of the Kabul airport responsibilities were discussed.

Mahmood Shah Habibi, deputy operational director at the ACAA, expressed happiness over recent development regarding the transfer of operation matters of the country’s airports to the Afghans.

He said it was a moment of pride for the people of Afghanistan that operational authorities of the country’s airports would be soon in the hands of the Afghans.

He thanked NATO forces for training Afghan officials to take over the responsibility of handling the affairs at airports, adding that some parts of the Hamid Karzai Airport were currently being administered by the Afghans and more training was required for Afghan officials to attain complete responsibilities.

At the end of the meeting, NATO senior officials awarded certificates to Afghan officials on completing their training in different areas of airport operations.
