SHARANA (Pajhwok): One child was killed and another three wounded on Wednesday when a mortar shell they were playing with exploded in southeastern Paktika province, an official said.
The incident took place in Waza Khwa district in the evening, said Nabiullah Perkhel, the governor’s spokesman.
He told Pajhwok Afghan News the children were playing with the ordnance when it exploded.
Abdul Ghani, a resident of the locality, said mortar shells fired by insurgents during attacks on security forces sometimes did not explode. He added security check-posts came under attack eight times . . .
