MAIMANA (Pajhwok): An anti-Taliban militia leader was gunned downed in Sherin Tagab district of northern Faryab province on Friday, an official said.
Two motorcyclists opened fire at Mohammad Naeem on Friday morning when he was on his way to Tapa Qala area from Koh Seyad area of the district along with one of his guards, the district chief, Syed Loqman, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Naeem, also a commander of the Junbish-i-Milli party led by First Vice President Abdul Rashid Dostum, was the chairman of the youth movement in the district, Zainullah said.
The slain person also served as a commander of a public uprising group and head of the district development council.
