Acting officials being replaced in Wardak: Hayat

MAIDAN SHAR (Pajhwok): The Maidan Wardak government would appoint new officials in cooperation with the central authority to replace acting departmental heads over the next 100 days, an official said on Monday.

This was told by Governor Hayatullah Hayat to a gathering attended by local officials, tribal elders, religious scholars, civil society, according to his spokesman Attaullah Khogyani.

Khogyani told Pajhwok Afghan News the provincial administration planned replace acting department heads and district chiefs by appointing permanent officials as part of the next 100-day action plan.

The 100-day plan included improvement in local governance, increase in youth recruitment in security forces, strictly monitoring the Kankor (university entry test) exam and some other issues, he said.

The president ordered him not to allow outsiders to interfere in Kankor and improve women’s and youth’s participation in policy and programme-making and pay more attention to them, Hayat told the gathering, referring to a recent video conference with the president.

The governor said differences among security organs, between his administration and the provincial council and other departments were not acceptable to the president.

He said they had included the land-grabbing issue in the 100-day plan because it was hurdle in the way of good governance, a move praised by the president.

The governor said they would collect complete information about land-grabbers and would bring them to justice.
