TALOQAN (Pajhwok): A number of earthquake-affected families in northern Takhar province complain relief goods meant for distribution to them have been taken home by police, illegal armed men and government officials.
A powerful earthquake hit northeastern Afghanistan on Oct. 26, leaving 119 people dead and more than 500 injured.
Rahimullah, a resident of Taloqan, the provincial capital, told Pajhwok Afghan News relief goods given in aid to the province had been stolen by illegal armed men, police commanders and other government officials.
