QALAT (Pajhwok): Local security officials on Wednesday said passengers kidnapped by gunmen in southern Zabul province were in good health and they were trying to release them.
Gunmen seized as many as 30 passengers from vehicles in Noorak area on the outskirts of Qalat City, the provincial capital, and took them away.
Some sources put the number of those kidnapped at 30, but others between 20, 17 or 14.
Zabul police chief Brig. Gen. Mirwais Noorzai told Pajhwok Afghan News they had intensified their efforts . . .
