KABUL (Pajhwok): The spy service on Thursday said its operatives had detained four members of Daesh or the self-styled Islamic State (IS) group in Paghman district of central Kabul province.
In a statement, the National Directorate of Security (NDS) identified the detainees as Nisar Ahmad, Nabiullah, Obaidullah and Syed Suhail.
“The rebels were sent to the district for disruptive activities by Rafiullah, a commander of a 20-member Daesh group in Achin district of Nangarhar,” the statement said.
The detainees had placed a home-made bomb in a jerry can underneath a small bridge in Zarshakh village of Paghman and the NDS forces defused the landmine and arrested the insurgents, the statement added.
The arrested men had confessed on their affiliation with the IS group, it concluded.
