Insurgent commander gunned down in Sar-i-Pul

SAR-I-PUL (Pajhwok): A Taliban Ajmal, was killed by unidentified gunmen in the northern province of Sar-i-Pul, a senior official said on Monday.

Maulvi Ajmal was shot dead on Sunday night in the Qala-i-Sokhta area on the outskirts of provincial capital, Governor Mohammad Zahir told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Ajmal, a key rebel commander in the province, was accused of killing a provincial council candidate, Hussain Nazari, along with his 11 men during his election campaign.
