MEHTARLAM (Pajhwok): At least two insurgents, including a commander, have been killed in a drone strike in eastern Laghman province, an official said on Wednesday.

Sarhadi Zwak, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in the Masmud Valley of Alishang district late Tuesday night.

He said Taliban commander Zarjan, also known as Dil Agha, was killed in the foreign forces’ airstrike. He was blamed for insurgent attacks in Alishang and Dawlat Shah districts.

Separately, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said an important member of the Taliban, Maulvi Ahmad Shah, had been detained in western Herat province.
