KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Defence on Thursday acknowledged security problems remained in Sangin and Khanshin districts of southern Helmand province, but said operations were ongoing there.
MoD spokesman Daulat Waziri told a press conference here that the security threats in the two districts were posed by landmines planted on roads, in residential areas, near mosques and agriculture fields.
“If the Afghan National Army (ANA) troops don’t take steps carefully, they would suffer heavy losses,” he said . . .
