ASADABAD (Pajhwok): Four children were killed by a blast from an unexploded mortar shell in the eastern province of Kunar, an official said on Friday.
The shell exploded on Thursday evening when the children, who found it, were playing with the munition in Shangar area of Asmar district, provincial police chief, Brig. Gen. Abdul Habib Syedkhel, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The slain children, aged between eight and 14 years old, included three brothers and a cousin, he said.
