KABUL (Pajhwok): The United Nations on Wednesday launched an appeal for $393 million in humanitarian aid to millions of vulnerable Afghans during the current year.
Aired live by local TV channels, the appeal was jointly launched by the UN's humanitarian coordinator Mark Bowden and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Abdullah Abdullah.
In his brief remarks, the CEO hoped that donor countries would live up to their commitments of previous years to aid Afghanistan’s vulnerable population.
