TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): The police chief for central Uruzgan province on Monday claimed insurgents were carrying out targeted killings in cooperation with some government officials.
Brig. Gen. Ghulam Sakhi Rogh Lewanai told a press conference here that recent targeted killings had been carried out by the insurgents in cooperation with a number of government officials.
He said the rebels were planning to capture a number of districts with support of these individuals in the government. He also said some district police chiefs were involved in killing of people and their harassment.
