13 insurgents dead, 8 wounded in Daesh-Taliban clash

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): At least 13 insurgents have been killed and eight others wounded during a clash between Taliban and Daesh fighters in eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Tuesday.

Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan Newsthe incident took place in the Karkani locality of Achin district a Daesh stronghold near the Pakistan border.

He said information about civilian causalities in the gunbattle was not immediately available. The Taliban and Islamic State have not yet commentedon the clash.
