Electricity supply to Kabul restored after weeks of blackout

PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): The governor of northern Baghlan province on Friday said militants had been purged of the Dand-i-Shahabuddin locality and electricity supply was restored to capital Kabul.

Abdul Sattar Bariz told Pajhwok Afghan News security forces have launched clearing operation in the area early on Friday and the area was cleared till afternoon.

He said engineers and technical team of the Brishna Shirkat have reached to the area and started work on the restoration of electricity supply.

He said the Taliban had been pushed back to the area and fired single bullets from their positions.
