17 Taliban perished, scores hurt in Kunduz clash

KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): Seventeen Taliban have been killed and 20 others wounded during a clash in the Dasht-i-Archi district of northern Kunduz province, a statement from the police headquarters said on Monday.

Taliban, however, claimed that 12 police were killed in the overnight attack on police check-posts in Pul-i-Momin locality.

The bodies of Taliban assailants were in the battle ground which had been shifted by the local elders and official from the Red Crescent Society.

Taliban Spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said Afghan security forces have attacked the Taliban positions in the locality and 12 security officials were killed in the group’s counter attack.

He confirmed three Taliban were killed and six others wounded in the fighting.
