KABUL (Pajhwok): Seven more Islamic State, or Daesh, fighters have been killed during an ongoing operation in eastern Nangarhar province, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said on Friday.
The fatalities came during an air and ground offensive in Pakha and Gor areas of Achin district, a Daesh stronghold near the Pakistan border, a statement from the ministry said.
Seven members of the rebel group were killed and four others wounded during the operation on Thursday, according to the statement, which said two rebels were eliminated in the Narai district of neighbouring Kunar province.
In the Sarobi district of Kabul, the ministry added, three guerrillas Nirkh were killed during a search operation. Four more fighters were killed in the district of Maidan Wardak province.
