ASADABAD (Pajhwok): At least 13 people were killed on Saturday when a suicide bomber blew himself up near the governor’s office in Asadabad, the capital of eastern Kunar province.
Governor Wahidullah Kalimzai told Pajhwok Afghan News 40 people were wounded as the bomber on foot detonated his explosives 15 metres from the entrance to his office.
He said tribal elder Haji Khanjan was among the fatalities. The governor stopped short of blaming any group for the massive bombing.
