LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Hundreds of people from Garamsir district of southern Helmand province on Sunday staged a protest demonstration in the provincial capital, calling for the district police chief to be removed.
They were chanting slogans against the district police chief and asked the government to remove him forthwith.
A tribal elder and participant of the rally, Zher Gul Faqirzada, told Pajhwok Afghan News the district police chief had connections with drug smugglers and as a result, security problems in the town had increased.
