PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Three civilians were killed in two separate incidents of violence in northern Baghlan province, an official said on Sunday.
Police chief, Maj. Mohammad Ewaz Nazari, told Pajhwok Afghan News illegal gunmen opened fire on a vehicle, killing two passengers.
The car came under attack on its way to Baghlan-i-Markazi district from Pul-i-Khumri in Tarakhel area.As the driver refused to stop, thegunmen opened fire at the car and killed two passengers.
Nazari said three suspects had been arrested in connection with the shooting, which happened at 4:00am. The detainees are currently under investigation.
Dand-i-Ghori and Dahna-i- Ghori areas had been cleared from the presence of Taliban insurgents and Afghan security forces would also take steps for the disbandment of illegal gunmen, Nazari said.
Separately, the Taliban gunned down an alleged killer in Tangi Merch area of Burka district.Police chief, Mohammad Juma, said the victim was a farmer, killed outside his house in front of his wife and children.
