JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Religious scholars attending a gathering in eastern Laghman province on Tuesday called on the Taliban to shun violence and accept the government’s peace talks offer.
Provincial Hajj and Religious Affairs director Syed Najibullah Hashimi told the gathering of religious scholars that the meeting was aimed at cementing unity among tribes and accelerating efforts at bringing peace and stability to the county.
He said the Afghans wanted peace and armed groups should accept their demand.
