BAMYAN CITY (Pajhwok): The tradition f celebrating Nawroz (Persian New Year) with red halwa (sweet) is gradually dying down in central Daikundi province.
A delicious sweet dish, the halwa is baked for Nawroz celebrations in Daikundi, Bamayn and Ghor provinces, a member of provincial council said.
Hadi Rahimizada told Pajhwok Afghan News, in the province, the red halwa was exclusively associated with Nawroz when ladies prepared to cook the traditional dish.
