LAKHARGAH (Pajhwok): A 10-day football tournament aimed at uniting tribes was launched in southern Helmand province, an official said on Friday.
Five football teams from Kandahar, Zabul, Farah, Nimroz and Helmand are taking part in the event that kicked off on Friday at the Karzai Stadium, the provincial Olympic committee head, Ghulam Ghaws Dawari told Pajhwok Afghan News.
A national trader, Haroon Popal sponsored the games and has provided transportation and accommodation facilities for the players from other provinces, he said adding all the teams would get peace . . .
