KABUL (Pajhwok): Hundreds of people in northeastern Badakhshan and central Maidan Wardak provinces donated blood for those injured in Tuesday’s devastating suicide bombing in Kabul.

At least 64 people were killed and 347 wounded in the car bomb attack on the VIP protection unit in the 16th police district of the capital.

Badakhshan governor, deputy governor, directors of different departments, civil society activists and students were among 200 people who donated a total to 10,000cc blood in Faizabad, the provincial capital, for the wounded people.

Meanwhile, dozens of people, including officials and civil society activists, donated blood for the injured in central Maidan Wardak province, a statement from the governor’s office said.

Similar campaigns have already been kicked off in other provinces of the country.
