Badakhshan avalanche leave woman, teenage girl dead

FAIZABAD(Pajhwok): A woman and a teenage girl have been killed by an avalanche in the Kofab district of northeastern Badakhshan province, an official said on Tuesday.

Syed Abdullah Humayun Dehqan, head of the Afghanistan Natural Disaster Management Authority (ANDMA), told Pajhwok Afghan Newsthe incident took place on Monday afternoon.

He said rescue teams had reached the Paimazar locality to retrieve the bodies of the woman, 30, and girl, 13. Dehqan added 50,000 afghanis had already been paid to the victims’ families.
