JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The process to harvest poppy crop has been kicked off in some districts of eastern Nangrahar province, while the government is yet to launch the eradication campaign.
Last year, poppy was cultivated on 1,017 hectares of land in Nangarhar and the government destroyed the crop on only 250 acres of land.
The size of land used this year to grow the banned plant is not known, but it is said more land is brought under poppy cultivation.
