KABUL’s port city of Karachi from Qatar to hold direct talks with the Afghan government, the BBC reported on Monday.
The BBC Urdu Service report, however, said Pakistan’s Foreign Office (FO) has expressed its unawareness about the Taliban delegation’s arrival in Karachi from Doha.
The BBC quoted unmanned sources as saying that the Taliban delegation included Mullah Shahabuddin Dilawar and Mullah Jan Mohammad and some other Taliban representatives were expected to join the talks from Pakistan.
The four-way talks that involved Pakistan, Afghanistan, China and the US are expected to resume in Islamabad this week, but no date has been fixed.
The Taliban delegation arrives as Afghan President Ashraf Ghani said on Monday they did not expect Pakistan to bring the Taliban to the negotiating table.
