KABUL ‘as a supporter of terrorism.’
Reacting to Taliban Akttar Mansour’s death in a US drone strike in Pakistan, some Wolesi Jirga members accused Islamabad of supporting terrorism and asked for an international reaction against Pakistan.
Lawmaker Shinkai Karokhel said evidence showed Mullah Mansour had been killed a few months earlier.
She said the international community should be aware of Pakistan’s dual-faced policy and should adopt a strict stance against the country.
Another lawmaker from Uruzgan, Obaidullah Barakzai, said all leaders and commanders of Taliban lived in Pakistan and the group was openly supported by Pakistan’s ISI. He said the Taliban had not been weakened with the death of its leader.
Meanwhile, Speaker Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi said the death of Mullah Mansour in Pakistan was a clear interference of the neighbouring country in Afghanistan’s affairs and national sovereignty.
Ibrahimi condemned Pakistan’s support for Taliban and asked the international community to deal with the country as a supporter of terrorism.
