MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Military officials say a general campaign to recruit the youth in five northern provinces to swell the ranks of Afghan National Army and police has been launched.
Sarwar Hussaini, 707 Pamir zone police spokesman, told a press conference here that government’s stance on the enemy and the national forces’ achievements had increased people’s trust in the government and the forces.
“Therefore, the youth got interested in joining security forces,” he said, elaborating the recruitment campaign was underway in the five northern provinces through media outlets, people and tribal elders and would continue for a month, hoping the recruitment would boost the morale of security forces.
Shaheen Military Corps spokesman Abdul Qahar Aram told Pajhwok Afghan News some 2,000 youngsters had joined security forces northern provinces over the past two months.
He said the newly launched campaign would strengthen recruitment process and many other youngsters would join security forces.
