KABUL commander was among six others killed during a raid by personnel of the Afghan Special Forces Unit in central Maidan Wardak province.
A MoI statement said the Taliban commander, Toryalai, was killed along with his five comrades on Tuesday in Maidan Shahr, the provincial capital, and Ibrahimkhel village of Mirza area in Narkh district.
The statement said Toryalai had been involved in a series of terrorist attacks, kidnappings and destruction of telecom towers.
But a resident of Ibrahimkhel area, Amaruddin, who witnessed the incident, said that Afghan security forces yesterday attacked a condolence meeting for the slain Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mansour.
He said the clash started at about 1pm and lasted until 5pm. The eyewitness denied Taliban commander Toryalai had been killed.
He said one Taliban fighter and one civilian were killed and three others were wounded during the firefight.
