MAIMANA (Pajhwok): At least 33 villages in Almar and Qaisar districts of western Faryab province were cleared of insurgents and 70 public uprising members rescued after being besieged for 10 days during a newly-launched operation by security forces, the governor on Sunday said.
Syed Anwar Sadat told Pajhwok Afghan News the operation launched two days back was aimed to crush the rebels and break the 10-day siege by insurgents.
