GARDEZ (Pajhwok): Some residents of Zadran district in southeastern Paktia province on Sunday complained the government did not provide them with health, educational, economic and other vital facilities in the past 15 years.
The complained they had been facing multiple problems in their lives and the government did not look after them despite the flow of millions of dollars in aid.
Qadir Khan, a tribal elder, told Pajhwok Afghan News the inhabitants of Zadran district were grappling with huge problems ranging from social to economic, health and education.
“We have only one high school in three villages and some student did not complete the 12th class in the past 14 years,” said Khan as an example of backwardness of the Zadran district.
He demanded government to pay quick attention to the district and launch development activities so that the life standard of the people could rise.
Haji Bangi, member of Gardy Serai local council, complained and said the district had no representative in the government structure so that a development project could be launched.
The law and order situation of the village was deteriorated due to government negligence, He added.
Mohammad Ibrahim, a local resident of Wazi Zadran area said, people of the district faced many problems regarding health and education. He complained there were no high schools in area and people aspired to get educated.
