GARDIZ (Pajhwok): At least five Taliban militants have been killed and nine others injured by their own bomb in the Syed Karam district of southeastern Paktia province, an official said on Monday.
Provincial police chief, Brig. Gen. Qadir Gul Zadran, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place when the Taliban were making a bomb inside a madrasa in Kohsin area on Sunday evening.
He said five rebels were killed and nine others wounded in the explosion.“We are investigating the exact figures of casualties the Taliban suffered as a result of the blast,” he added.
Noorullah, a resident of Kohsin area, confirmed the explosion but he had no information about casualties.The Ministry of Interior (MoI) confirmed the incident and said five militants were killed and eight others injured.
