KABUL $135 million in assistance to help build the capacity of the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF).
The commitment came at the Warsaw Summit, with Seoul giving the aid to Kabul from 2018 to 2020, a South Korean newspaper reported on Sunday. $45 million would be contributed to Afghanistan annually.
On Saturday, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said the alliance leaders had made three key decisions regarding Afghanistan.“First, we agreed to sustain our Resolute Support Mission beyond 2016.
“Second, we received firm national commitments to funding Afghan security forces through 2020. And third, we reaffirmed our support for a long-term political partnership and practical cooperation with Afghanistan,” he added.
In Warsaw, Korea’s Vice Foreign Minister Lim Sung-numannounced the aid.
He pledged Korea’s contribution to Afghanistan under the NATO-led mission.
